Compare ABA EHRs

Lumenality vs Theralytics

Theralytics is an ABA practice management platform created by a BCBA, with published per-client pricing. Lumenality is an ABA-only EHR priced as one flat monthly rate per practice, with a dedicated deployment for every practice. Both include data collection, a library of standard programs and billing. The biggest difference is how the bill is calculated.

Where Theralytics fits

  • You have a small caseload. Theralytics charges per client or per user, so a practice with few clients can pay less than a flat rate.
  • You are just starting out. Theralytics offers start-up packages that trade software fees for a percentage of collections.
  • You want to hand billing to an outside team. Theralytics runs a billing service for a percentage of receivables.
  • You want no annual contract. Theralytics lists no annual contract on its core plans.

Where Lumenality wins

  • Your bill does not grow with your caseload. Lumenality charges one flat monthly rate by provider count; per-client pricing rises with every client you add.
  • No percentage of collections, ever. You keep what you bill.
  • Your practice runs on its own deployment, with its own database and encryption keys.
  • The clearinghouse is built in: claims, remittances, eligibility and claim-status checks run through Stedi inside Lumenality.
  • You can get a CSV export of your data on request at any time, not only in a window after you leave, and leaving carries no exit fee.
  • Progress reports, treatment plans and BIPs carry the client’s graphs, numbered and frozen when signed, and families see the same graphs in the portal and on the signed copy.

Where Lumenality does not win

  • For a small caseload, per-client pricing can cost less than our flat rate. Compare both against your client count.
  • We are a young company, without the history and third-party reviews Theralytics has built.
  • We do not offer a billing service. Lumenality is software your own billing team runs.

Switching from Theralytics

Can you import my data from my current EHR?

In most cases, yes. After we review samples of what your current system can export, we'll tell you exactly what we can bring over — typically client demographics, active authorizations, schedules, clinical history, and billing records. Some sources export cleanly and migration is straightforward; others are messier and a portion of the data needs to be re-keyed or hand-mapped. Either way you'll know the scope and the trade-offs before onboarding starts, not after.

How long does it take to switch?

Most practices go live in about 2 to 6 weeks. That covers the signed agreement and BAA (1 to 3 weeks), a data-migration assessment (up to 2 weeks), and 3 to 5 days of staff training. Go-live itself takes one day.

Is there a trial?

Not a self-serve one, because every practice runs on its own dedicated deployment. Instead, we walk you through the full platform in a live demo before you sign anything. On the call you see a session note become a claim, how authorizations and denials are tracked, and the rate for your provider count.

What happens if I want to leave?

Your data is yours. We provide full data exports — clinical records, billing, and operational data — in standard CSV format on request at any time, not just at exit. If you do choose to leave, the same exports are provided with 30 days notice. No exit fees, no data hostage situations.
